Fourth of July Events in Central Florida
Daytona Beach – Daytona Beach Main Street July 4th Block Party and Barbecue is an 8-block long party with a summer barbecue theme. The event will be held from 6 pm until midnight with fireworks at 9:30 pm and includes live music, food vendors and a kids zone.
What would the 4th of July in Daytona be without a race? So here you are: The Coke Zero 400 at Daytona is a 160 lap, 400 miles NASCARSprint Cup Seriesstock car race at Daytona International Speedway scheduled to take place July 2 – 4, 2009.
Daytona Beach Band Shell – This is a great place to watch the fireworks, live music will begin at 6 pm and the fireworks at 9:40
Fireworks at the Fountain at Lake Eola Park – The Mayor will welcome you as the skies above Orlando light up in red white and blue for this year’s event that will take place from 6 PM – 10 PM on Friday July 4th. It will feature live musical entertainment and many delicious foods and includes an appearance by the Orlando Concert Band.
Red Hot & Boom in Altamonte Springs – Altamonte Springs and Crane’s Roost Park invite you to celebrate with them as they present their 14th annual Independence Day. Join the Celebration, Friday July 3rd from 4 pm- 11 pm. Come enjoy live entertainment, vendor booth’s, food, drinks and activities for the kids. The night will climax in a 25 minute fireworks display set to a mix of patriotic music and the latest musical hits.
Disney World – July Fourth is a grand celebration of all things America. What better patriotic place to be than Walt Disney World Resort as freedom rings from corner to corner of the Vacation Kingdom. “Disney’s Celebrate America!-A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky” will dazzle Magic Kingdom guests at 9 pm on the Fourth of July. That same park will feature a performance of the “SpectroMagic” nighttime parade, at 10:30 pm.
Busch Gardens – Independence Day weekend explodes with a pair of performances at Busch Gardens. On July 3, it’s legendary teen heartthrob David Cassidy. From “The Partridge Family” fame to his 18 gold and platinum recordings, Cassidy has had numerous hits throughout the decades, including “I Write the Songs,” “Lyin’ to Myself” and “I Think I Love You.” July 4, former Starship lead singer, Mickey Thomas, rocks Busch Gardens in a special Independence Day celebration, followed by a fireworks finale.
Ticket Prices Drop For Coke Zero 400
A limited number of tickets in the Oldfield and Lockhart Grandstands will be rolled back from $55 to $40 for the 51st annual Coke Zero 400 Powered By Coca-Cola on Saturday, July 4, Daytona International Speedway President Robin Braig announced in a press release.

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will kick off its season with the Daytona 500. Also known as “The Great American Race”, the Daytona 500 is the biggest, richest and most prestigious motorsports event in America. Every driver dreams of hoisting the winner’s trophy – the Harley J. Earl – as Daytona 500 champion and will do anything to accomplish that goal on the historic high banks of the “World Center of Racing”.
Prices For Select Daytona 500 Tickets Cut
A limited number of tickets in select areas on the famed Superstretch for the 51st annual Daytona 500 on Sunday, Feb. 15 will be rolled back from $99 to $55, Daytona International Speedway President Robin Braig announced. The $55 ticket price for the Daytona 500 is the lowest ticket price for “The Great American Race” since 1995.
“The roll back of ticket prices in select areas for the Daytona 500 is a significant and important step for race fans,” Braig said. “These are challenging times for everyone and we hope that these adjustments in ticket prices will make it more affordable for race fans to witness the excitement and pageantry of the Daytona 500 in person.
“And even though these are tough times, this is a great opportunity for race fans to attend ‘The Great American Race.’ Along with the rollback in ticket prices, parking is always free, race fans can continue to bring their coolers with food and beverages and we’ve worked with area hotels to make their stay even more affordable.”

Historic Daytona International Speedway will kick off the 2009 racing season during the months of January and February. Kicking everything off will be NASCAR Preseason Thunder Fan Fests on Jan. 16 and 17 with fan forums, autograph sessions, silent auction, displays and entertainment. The Rolex 24 At Daytona, America’s most prestigious sports car event, is set for Jan. 24-25 and will feature the stars of racing including Jimmie Johnson, Juan Pablo Montoya, Danica Patrick and Scott Pruett.The stock car portion of DIRECTV Speedweeks kicks off with the Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 and the Budweiser Shootout All-Star race on Saturday night, Feb. 7 followed by Daytona 500 Qualifying on Sunday, Feb. 8. Also on tap is the Gatorade Duel on Thursday, Feb. 12, the NextEra Energy Resources 250 Camping World Truck Series race on Friday, Feb. 13, the Camping World 300 Nationwide Series race on Saturday, Feb. 1 and NASCAR’s biggest, richest and most prestigious race — the Daytona 500 — on Sunday, Feb. 15
Preseason Thunder set: Fan Fests on Jan. 16-17

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Race fans will receive a sneak peek of DIRECTV Speedweeks 2009 as well as the new racing season on Jan. 16-17 with the annual NASCAR Preseason Thunder Fan Fests at historic Daytona International Speedway.
Fans can get their racing fix prior to Speedweeks and the Daytona 500 with numerous activities with their favorite drivers from the Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Camping World Truck series in the Sprint FanZone located in the heart of the World Center of Racing.
Among the activities planned for both days include:
• Interactive fan forums
• Autograph sessions
• Show cars, displays, music
• Online auction
• Blood drive
In addition, the Richard Petty Driving Experience will be on track with ride and driving packages available. The ride-only packages can be purchased on-site while the driving packages must be purchased in advance at 1-800-BE-PETTY.
Tickets, which go on sale at 9 a.m. ET Saturday, are $15 with autograph session availability limited to only 100 people per driver in advance. To purchase tickets and request access to the special autograph sessions, call 1-800-PITSHOP.
Drivers scheduled to make appearances beginning at 6 p.m. Jan. 16 include Ryan Newman, Tony Stewart, Jeff Burton, Kyle Busch, Reed Sorenson, Aric Almirola, Casey Mears, Greg Biffle, Travis Kvapil, David Gilliland, Mike Skinner and Jon Wes Townley.
Scheduled to appear during the noon-4 p.m. session on Jan. 17 include Jimmie Johnson, Matt Kenseth, Carl Edwards, Mark Martin, Denny Hamlin, David Ragan, Colin Braun, Erik Darnell, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Paul Menard and Alex Garcia.
In the 4-8 p.m. session on Jan. 17, drivers scheduled to appear include Dale Earnhardt Jr., Michael Waltrip, Kevin Harvick, Brad Keselowski and Ron Hornaday.
Additional drivers and more details about the NASCAR Preseason Thunder Fan Fests will be released in the coming weeks.
Ford Race and Rock Fest Returns
